Mace Construct will trade as Forco from the start of next year, the UK contractor has announced, after the business was separated from Mace Consult in March.

The two companies became standalone businesses in March under an agreement that left the Mace brand with Mace Consult. Mace Construct will keep trading under its existing name until the New Year, when the Forco identity takes effect together with a new corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030.

A shorter name for a standalone business

The contractor described the new name as "short, impactful and easy to pronounce."

Leadership sets out the pitch

Mark Reynolds, Executive Chair, said Mace Construct had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward, and that the new name represents a commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor, and its most productive by 2030.

Reynolds said the culture, values and people behind the business's success would not change with the brand. Clients, he added, can expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery, and the same drive to create places and infrastructure that last.

The rebrand covers name and identity only, with the company stating that delivery arrangements for clients stay as they are.
