Aggreko has launched three Tier 4 Final diesel generators configured for remote Canadian work sites, with the models reserved exclusively for Canadian contractors. The line covers 145 kW, 210 kW and 1,200 kW capacities. Aggreko says the units are designed to meet and exceed local market needs and to provide reliable, low-emissions power for commercial and industrial applications.
All three generators are CSA and UN31A compliant, according to the company, meeting electrical and fuel regulations in Canada. The 145 kW and 210 kW models are canopy units that Aggreko describes as readily deployable for immediate energy needs. The 1,200 kW model is positioned for large industrial loads and includes onboard 600 V capability. According to the company, all three are configured to meet the market and regulatory requirements of Canadian contractors.
Onboard 600 V output
The 1,200 kW unit’s 600 V capability eliminates the need for additional step-up transformers, Aggreko says. The company states that direct 600 V output reduces project complexity, improves cost-efficiency and minimizes potential points of failure. It identifies large industrial applications where 600 V is frequently required as a particular fit, giving customers what Aggreko calls a distinct competitive edge.
Paul Nascimento, managing director for Canada at Aggreko, said tailoring the company’s most advanced generators for Canadian customers reflects the importance of the market. He cited large petrochemical and mining industries that need power across vast, remote territories, along with construction and data centre sectors. Nascimento said Canada has a clear demand for engineered energy solutions that are powerful and precisely configured, and that the Canadian Tier 4 Final generators pair Aggreko technology with hardware tailored to Canadian operating requirements.
Fleet and applications
The new models expand Aggreko’s Canadian fleet, which spans 25 kW to 1,200 kW. Through its network of Canadian service centres, Aggreko says its energy experts work with customers in data centres, construction, oil and gas, mining and events to deploy temporary power.
Aggreko says all three generators offer industry-leading fuel efficiency, ultra-low emissions and significantly controlled noise levels that surpass local requirements. The company also points to Canada’s expanding data centre industry as a key application. As provincial regulators look to limit how much power data centre operators draw from the grid, Aggreko says its Tier 4 Final generators can provide off-grid energy to keep facilities operational in a way that is minimally disruptive to communities. That positioning is particularly relevant for data centre operators facing limits on grid power, according to the company.
